    Here's a look at upcoming programs and events at area public, private and faith-based schools:

Today-Friday

     • Subject Area Testing Program (SATP2). Students enrolled in Biology I, U.S. History,  Algebra I, and English II will take the SATP2 (state tests).

 

Wednesday

    • Ross Collins Career and Technical Center Child Care Graduation and end-of-year program, 2:30 p.m., Ross Collins Peavey Auditorium.

     • Carver Middle School MCT2 Rally, 8:30 a.m., gym.

 

Thursday

    • Carver Middle School Athletic Banquet, 6 p.m., cafeteria.

    • Meridian High School Annual Spring Choir Concert, 7 p.m., MHS Auditorium.

 

Friday

     • West Hills Elementary Kindergarten Field Trip to Birmingham Zoo.

    • Oakland Heights Elementary Gifted Gala, from 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m.

     • Oakland Heights Elementary MCT2 Pep Rally, from 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.

    • Northwest Middle School Prom, from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m., gym. Theme: Hollywood.

Saturday

    • West Hills Elementary Math and Language Arts Boot Camp, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

 

May 13-16

    • Mississippi Curriculum Test (MCT2). Students in grades third through eighth will take the MCT2 (state test) in Language Arts and Math.

 

May 15

    • Meridian High School "School Counts" Pizza Party, 2:30 p.m.

May 16

    • West Hills Elementary First Grade Field Trip to the Jackson Zoo

    •  Poplar Springs Elementary Fifth Grade Awards Program, 9 a.m., auditorium.

    • Meridian High School Freshman Day

    • Oakland Heights Elementary PBIS Reward Day

    • Oakland Heights Elementary fifth grade students leave for Washington, D.C., 6:30 p.m.
