    Here's a look at upcoming programs and events at Meridian's city, county, private and faith-based schools:    

    Today

    • Northwest Middle 3 STAR Student T-shirt Day

    Today-Thursday

    • Northwest Cheer Clinic, from 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m., Northwest Gym

    Today-Friday

    • Poplar Springs Elementary Relay Recess. During physical education class, students will walk laps to honor staff members who are cancer survivors. Donations will benefit Lauderdale County Rely For Life.

    Thursday

    • Carver Middle Beauty and Beau, 6 p.m., MHS Auditorium

    • Meridian High School Softball Team BBQ Fundraiser, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Northeast Softball Park Complex. Plates are $7 each and will include ribs, cole slaw, baked beans, bread and cake. Delivery from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

    • Northwest Middle 4 STAR Student Jean Day

    Friday

    • Northwest Middle 5 STAR Student Dress Down Day

    • Northwest Middle Cheerleading Tryouts, 4 p.m., Northwest Gym Tryouts for Northwest students only.

    • Oakland Heights Elementary Spring Dance for fourth and fifth grades, from 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Admission, $5; proceeds benefit the student trip to Washington.

    April 8

    • Magnolia Middle Picture Day, Magnolia Auditorium

    • West Hills Elementary MCT2 Parent Workshop

    April 10

    • Carver Middle School Spring Pictures

    • Oakland Heights Elementary Fairbanks Scale Tour, 10 a.m. (Mrs. Turnage’s third grade class).

    • Poplar Springs Elementary Gifted Gala, PSE Auditorium. A celebration of the work of ArtQuest and Explore students. Fifth graders will honor Community Leaders during this event.

    • Ross Collins HOSA State Conference, Natchez. Seven Health Science Students from Ross Collins will compete in the state competition.

    April 10-18

    • Poplar Springs Elementary Scholastic Book Fair, PSE Library. Hard and soft bound books available for purchase; benefits PSE classroom libraries.

    April 11

    • Meridian High School Spring Band Concert, 6 p.m., MHS Auditorium

    • T.J. Harris Elementary Awards Day, Lower Campus. Awards for the third nine weeks.

    April 12

    • Regional Science Fair, Mississippi State University, Starkville. Elementary students from across the district will compete.

    • T.J. Harris Elementary Awards Day, Upper Campus. Awards for the third nine weeks.

    April 16

    • Poplar Springs Elementary PTA meeting and Panda-Monium (fifth grade choir) concert, 6 p.m., PSE Auditorium

    April 17

    • Oakland Heights Elementary (fifth graders) visits Jackson Zoo.
