MERIDIAN — The Health Occupation Student Association (HOSA) chapter of the Newton County Career and Technical Center placed in several areas at the HOSA State Competition in Natchez recently. Winners included: front row, from left: Mackenzie Gannon, Christina Shoemaker, Lalah McMullan, first place among Biomedical Debate Teams; Amber Truhitt, second place in Nutrition; Karey Williams, fourth place in Extemporaneous Writing; Faith Westberry, fourth place in Epidemiology; and Summer Embry, fourth place in Home Health Aide Second row, from left, Gema Alonso and Tylin Sorrells, fourth place among Forensic Medicine Teams; Laney Chesney, fifth place in Nutrition; Mary Snowden and Ashley Gressett; fifth place among Forensic Medicine Teams; and Rachael Havard, fifth place in Medical Reading. Also recognized were: Haleigh West and Mak Rowzee, fourth place among Career Health Displays.
