    • Benjamin Bryce Harrell has been selected to receive the Laurie M. Autry Memorial Scholarship at Meridian Community College. 

    Harrell, a 2008 valedictorian graduate of Morton Christian Academy, is a Dean’s List scholar, a member of the Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year college students and a member of Health Occupation Students of America. He plans to enter the work force as a physical therapist asistant.

    • OXFORD – Samira Nadia Abunemeh of Philadelphia was inducted into the University of Mississippi’s chapter of Phi Kappa Phi in a campus ceremony at David Nutt Auditorium. Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is the university’s highest academic honor across all disciplines.

    Abunemeh is a member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College and Croft Institute for International Studies. Listed on the Chancellor’s Honor Roll, she is a junior majoring in international studies.

    A graduate of Neshoba Central High School, she is the daughter of Hisham and Tammy Abunemeh.
