LIVINGSTON, Ala.— The University of West Alabama’s College of Liberal Arts will sponsor three authors reading from their works and signing their books. Each event is free and open to the public.
Lila Quintero Weaver will be reading from her graphic book, Darkroom: A Memoir in Black and White, a remembrance of growing up amid racial conflict in Marion, Ala. Weaver will read on April 8 at 2 p.m. in UWA’s Bell Conference Center. Weaver will be available to sign copies of her novel during a reception following her reading.
Valerie Miner, author of 28 novels and writer in residence at Stanford University in California, will be reading from Traveling with Spirits, a novel about conflicts of family, faith, and cultures. Miner will read on April 9 at 4 p.m. in the Callaway Schoolhouse, which is directly behind the Moon House. Miner will sign copies of Traveling with Spirits during a reception following her reading.
On April 17, B. J. Leggett will be reading from his novel, Prosperity, a murder mystery set in Tennessee, at 5 p.m. in the Callaway Schoolhouse. He will be available to sign copies of the novel at a reception following the reading.
