Approximately 624 schools in the United States have Navy JROTC units, and only 25 units make it to national competition each year. Held at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla., the competition has been changed to a virtual competition this year as a result of the Sequestration to the Federal Budget.

The unit has a monitor assigned who will observe the Academic, Athletic and drill competition and verify all events and scoring. The video will be mailed to Sports Network International who is responsible for judging and scoring. Results will be published later this month.
