MERIDIAN —     •  MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Justin Michael Powell of Meridian graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Bethel University. Powell received his degree during Bethel's fall 2012 commencement exercises.

    • OXFORD – Ronald Scott Brady of Shubuta was among 829 December 2012 candidates for degrees at the University of Mississippi.

    • DAPHNE, Ala. – Jay L. Crane of Meridian received a bachelor of sport sciences degree in sports management from the United States Sports Academy.

    • Meridian Community College Associate Degree Nursing students and graduates came out winners when they participated in the Mississippi Organization of Associate Degree Nursing convention.

    Taking four out of five award categories, the MCCers garnered a first place in the Scholars Bowl. Student Ashley Ratcliff and Matthew Harris competed.

    Erin Adcock received a $1,000 award for the Bobbie Anderson Scholarship while Kyschme Watson took the Outstanding ADN Student recognition.

    In addition, MCC graduate Sandra Thrasher was tapped as Outstanding Associate Degree Nurse in Practice.

    • Ryan Mundy Wilson of Scooba has been inducted into Eta Upsilon Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at East Mississippi Community College.

    Wilson is majoring in sociology/social science.
