1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?”
Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns five circumstances. The first need is a couple with three children needing assistance this month. The father has been laid off but starts a new job this week. During the search for a new job they were surviving with only the wife’s income. We can provide utilities while the father starts his new job.
The second need is a lady in her forties with one daughter. They are currently trying to start a new life after leaving an abusive relationship. The mother has secured a safe living arrangement and looks forward to a better future. We can provide utilities as they continue their new life free from abuse.
The third need is a mother in her 20s with three children. They moved to Meridian because the mother could not find a job in the rural area they previously lived. She hopes this move helps them to have a better life. She has been doing well since moving to Meridian, but one child recently became very sick requiring her to miss work. The medical expenses and missed income caused her to fall behind financially. We can provide medications and utilities to help this family continue their road to a better life in Meridian.
The fourth need is a lady in her fifties with one child living in her home. She has always provided for her family through hard work. However, her income has been drastically reduced because her employer cut her hours. We can provide utilities and rent as this lady continues to work hard.
The fifth need is a mother and her young son who left everything they had to escape an abusive relationship. The young boy is having a hard time adjusting to a new way of life. They had to leave behind everything he owned including his dog when they escaped the abuse. We can provide assistance with food, clothing, rent, and utilities as they continue to find their way to a new life.
With $2,987.98 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information- Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
