Arlene Mayes Davis
NEWTON — Services for Arlene Mayes Davis will be held today at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Justin Chaney and Larry Laird officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Davis,47, of Lawrence, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a bookkeeper at Piggly Wiggly of Newton. She was a member of the Newton County Relay For Life team. She was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, and was in the Ebenezer Ladies Circle.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Randall "Randy" Davis of Lawrence; her daughter, Krystal Elaine Davis of Lawrence; a son, Benjamin Randall "Ben" Davis of Lawrence; her father, James P. Mayes, of Lawrence; sisters, Sara Gentry and her husband, Jackie, of Hickory, Janie McMillan and her husband, Jimmy, of Lawrence and Wanda Dial and her husband, Freddie, of Scooba; her father-in-law, Bob Davis of Carthage; her mother-in-law, Nita May and her husband, Richard, of Madden and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rena Bell Mayes; her brother, Rodney Warren Mayes, and her mother-in-law, Vertice Davis.
Pallbearers will be Tim Gentry, Freddie Gentry, Bryan Smiley, Skye Davis, Emmett Davis, Shelby Cronen and Evan Davis.
