1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns nine circumstances. The first need is a mother in her early forties with two children currently interviewing for a second job. She has always provided for her children but is worried since her employer recently cut her hours. We can provide rent and utilities while she searches for a second job.
The second need is a lady in her nineties choosing between medications and utilities. She has found herself in a financial bind and has not been able to afford both. We can provide her medications so she can keep her utilities on.
The third need is a couple in their fifties whose utilities are about to be cut off. The husband is on oxygen, and the wife has gone through eight surgeries during the past year. The wife has been unable to work and feels they have nowhere to turn. We can provide utilities while they regain their health.
The fourth need is a recently married couple who just found out the wife has cancer. They are in shock with this diagnosis and on top of that are having financial troubles. We can help with their mortgage and utilities as they take the next steps to battle cancer.
The fifth need is a mother who has taken in her sisters two children. She has no one to help but is desperate to keep her family together no matter the cost. We can provide utilities to support this mother who is making a difference in children’s lives.
The sixth need is two sisters in their fifties living together. Both were laid off by their employer during the same week. They need a little help to get their utilities caught up while they move on to new jobs.
The seventh need is a lady in her fifties with a tumor on her optic nerve. Her eyesight has been drastically changed due to the tumor. We can provide a new pair of glasses to help her see.
The eighth need is a couple in their forties who just found out the husband has lung cancer. They have both missed several weeks of work as they make treatment plans. We can provide utilities as they get their life more organized after the shock of cancer
The ninth need is a single mother with three children. She is a victim of domestic violence and needs assistance with her rent and utilities. We can help provide these as she continues to provide a safe home for her children.
With $3,000 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information - Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
