Star needs readers’ input for new market survey

MERIDIAN — The Meridian Star is conducting a readership study to better understand how you read our products and how you shop. We want to know what newspapers you read, what websites you visit and other media you consume.

Then, we want to know how you use newspapers and websites when making decisions. Answering these and other lifestyle and shopping questions will help The Meridian Star give you the information you need and want, and could land you a prize or cash.

The Star has partnered with Pulse Research, an independent, nationally respected research company, in conducting a readership study on our behalf.

We are living in uncertain economic times and are hoping this research will provide insight into the economic climate of the communities we serve. The Star has an obligation to its readers and website users to be proactive within the communities we serve; this is not an obligation we take lightly. With a better understanding of reading and spending habits, we will be able to accomplish two things.

First, we will be able to improve our products to better serve you. Secondly, we will help our local businesses by showing them what you are in the demand for and what you want in advertising messages.

We are in the unique position of being able to positively affect our readers, local businesses and ourselves, but we can’t do it without you. This survey takes about 30 minutes to complete, but it is time well spent.

Information will be kept confidential and will be used for this survey’s purposes only. You will not receive any solicitations as a result of completing the survey.

And, here’s the really good news. By participating you will automatically be eligible for a chance to win $1,000. Additionally, there will be six local guaranteed prizes drawn, plus a $500 gift card from Cowboy Maloney and one $250 gift card from Lowes, Lauderdale County Co-Op, Village Western Wear and Shoe Repair and six gift cards worth $25 each from various restaurants in our area.

To participate please go online at

I thank you in advance for your participation in helping make our local economy stronger.
