MERIDIAN — 1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns eight circumstances. The first need is a couple in their fifties needing assistance for the first time in their life. The husband was disabled in an accident several years ago, and the wife is healing from a stroke. We can provide utilities while they continue to heal.
The second need is a young mother of three doing all she can to make ends meet. Her husband was murdered in a robbery last year, and she is trying to stay strong for her children. We can help her with bills as she works hard to recover mentally and financially.
The third need is a single father whose wife died at an early age. He has taken care of his children without ever asking for assistance. He was just released from the hospital after his surgery and is worried about his finances because of missed work. We can provide utilities as the father goes back to work.
The fourth need is a lady in her sixties who has lived alone since her husband died. She has several health problems that require expensive medications, which we can help her afford by providing utilities.
The fifth need is a lady in her forties who has been in rehabilitation for the last three weeks to heal from her surgery. The time in the hospital and rehabilitation have caused her to miss work. We can provide utilities as she regains her strength to go back to work.
The sixth need is a mother of three children trying to recover from the loss of her brother who was murdered a month ago. The cost of the funeral has her struggling financially. We can provide rent and utilities to help this mother after this hardship.
The seventh need is a couple who just found out the husband has a terminal illness. The wife finds it difficult to leave her husband’s side because of the care he requires. They have both missed weeks of work. We can provide assistance with expenses as they try to stay positive during this time.
The eighth need is a mother with one child who has been struggling since her husband died last year. They have hit rock bottom financially. We can provide clothes, towels, utilities, and other living necessities to help this mother and child start over.
With $3,657.67 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information - Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
