MERIDIAN — 1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?”
Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns eight circumstances. The first need is a couple in their early thirties needing medical assistance. The wife is sick and cannot afford the much needed medications. We can provide medications while they await approval by the patient assistance program.
The second need is a man in his late twenties trying his best to better his life. He walks to and from work every day. He refuses to depend on the government because he has always provided for himself. We can provide rent to enable this hard working young man to continue to be self-sufficient.
The third need is a lady in her forties who was referred by the hospital to the Wesley House. She requires medications in order to carry out daily activities. We can provide these medications as she continues to heal.
The fourth need is a couple in their early thirties with two small children. The husband was laid off from work for several weeks before he found a new job. The missed income has them in a financial bind. We can provide utilities as the husband starts his new job.
The fifth need is a young couple with three children in jeopardy of losing their apartment. They are both working full time but hit a financial hurdle with unexpected expenses. We can provide rent to keep this family from being homeless.
The sixth need is a lady in her fifties working all the hours she can. She was referred to the Wesley House by a local doctor. She cannot afford the necessary medications to remain healthy. We can provide her medications while she awaits approval by the patient assistance program.
The seventh need is a man in his fifties just released from the hospital after suffering his third heart attack. He fell behind on his bills during his hospital stay. We can provide utilities while he continues to heal.
The eighth need is a lady in her eighties who just buried a grandchild. She had to put the funeral expenses before her bills. We can provide utilities during this time of grief.
With $2,323.98 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information- Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
