Today's need — $2,240

MERIDIAN —

“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” 1 John 3:17

Praise belongs to God as every need since 2009 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change and enhance lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.

Today’s need concerns six circumstances. These circumstances are a compilation of people who shared with us their stories. These stories protect the confidentiality of the individuals. The first need is a young couple with three daughters under the age of twelve. The mother was in a car wreck last month and missed several weeks of work.  The missed income and medical bills have this hard working family in a financial bind.  We can assist with their mortgage while she returns to work.

The second need is a lady in her 90s who has never asked for help. Her fixed income made it impossible for her to afford the emergency plumbing repairs to her home. Assisting with her utilities will allow her to make the repairs.

The third need is couple in their 70s who have worked all their life and tried to save for their retirement. Health care problems and purchasing medicine have made assistance necessary. They will be fine going forward if we can assist with their utility bills this month.

The fourth need is a couple with two children. The father has been taking chemotherapy for several months to fight cancer. He has become so weak he has been unable to work the last few weeks. The wife works but does not make enough to cover all their bills. We can assist with their utilities while the father returns to work.

The fifth need is a couple in their 60s who have missed work since the wife broke her hip several weeks ago. The husband had to take off work to be by his wife’s side at the hospital and get her settled back in at home. The wife’s sister has arrived to help and the husband can return to work. We can assist with their mortgage and utilities as they get there life back to normal.

The sixth need is a single mother of two boys. She works all the hours she can to provide for her children. This month she had to be off work with one of the boys when he had the stomach virus. Her check was lower than normal because of the missed work. We can provide utilities for this hard working mother.

With $2,240 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.

For your information, any story will be shared after all needs and individuals have been processed through the Wesley Clearing House. Proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household must be provided. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc.  This extensive application process ensures the people and the situations they face are real.  God is so good! Thank you for being somebody He can use. Please pray for each need and see if God gives you the means to help. If He puts it on your heart, please act on it.
