1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns nine circumstances. The first need is a man in his 50s just released from the hospital. He has a heart condition that required an emergency stint. We can provide utilities as he continues to heal.
The second need is a lady in her 60s whose hours were recently cut at work. She lives frugally, but making ends meet is difficult because of the missed income. We can provide utilities as this hard working lady starts a second job.
The third need is a couple in their 50s who just found out the husband has cancer in addition to several other health problems. He has tried to return to work but does not have the stamina to work long. We can help with their mortgage and utilities as the husband tries to regain his health.
The fourth need is a man in his 50s who has undergone several surgeries during the last year. He worked all the hours he could when not in the hospital. The missed income has him financially struggling. We can provide rent and utilities as this man goes back to work full time.
The fifth need is a lady in her 50s who recently lost her job because of company cutbacks. She found a new job but had fallen behind while searching for new employment and experiencing several unexpected expenses. We can provide utilities to help this lady make ends meet.
The sixth need is a lady in her 60s who was a victim of robbery. A police report was filed, but she is concerned about paying her bills without the money that was stolen. We can provide rent so this lady can have financial security.
The seventh need is a lady in her 50s doing all she can to afford the necessities in life. She recently made several financial cutbacks including moving into a less expensive apartment to make ends meet. However, she is unable to afford utilities and is carrying buckets of water from her neighbor’s apartment to her apartment. We can help this frugal lady with utilities as she adjusts her living expenses.
The eighth need is a single mother of three working all the hours she can. She found asking for assistance difficult, but felt she had no choice at this point. We can provide rent and utilities as this mother continues to provide for her three children.
The ninth need is a single mother with four children. One of the children recently became very sick and required expensive medications. We can provide rent and utilities so this mother can afford the remaining medications.
With $3,883.58 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information - Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
