1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns six circumstances. The first need is a young father with two children under the age of ten. Being a single parent has been hard but he loves every minute he spends with his children. Asking for assistance was very difficult for him. Both children were recently sick creating medical expenses he could not afford. We can provide rent and utilities as this father continues his role as a great parent.
The second need is a lady in her sixties who has fallen behind financially because of medical expenses. She had an accident that resulted in medical bills she could not afford. She has done well since her husband died, but this situation has her at a point of giving up. We can help with her utilities as she regains her strength from the accident.
The third need is a young lady who came to the Wesley House to find help for her mother. Her mother has been diagnosed with cancer and starts chemo and radiation next week. The young lady was at her mother’s house when the power company came to disconnect the power. She had no idea of the financial trouble her mother was facing. We can provide utilities as the mother begins her treatments.
The fourth need is a mother in her thirties with three children. She was doing fine financially until her car broke down. She had no choice but to fix the family’s only transportation. The unexpected car repairs put a major strain on this hard working mother’s finances. We can provide rent and utilities to help this single mother through a hard time.
The fifth need is a man struggling with many medical problems. He is doing the best he can to work even though he is very sick. Hospital stays caused him to miss many days of work. We can provide rent and utilities as this man starts a second job to regain financial security.
The sixth need is couple in their forties with one child. It has been hard for the family to survive solely on the income of the wife when the husband was laid off. The husband just started a new job and is excited to get back to work. We can provide rent and utilities to help this family get back on their feet.
With $2,882.99 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information - Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
