MERIDIAN — 1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns four circumstances. The first need is a single mother with four children, two of whom are deployed overseas with the military. When one of her children was injured in a bombing in Iraq, she had no choice but to take off work to be by his side. Her son refused to stay in America regardless of needed corrective surgeries in order to go back and be with his battalion in Iraq. The mother is back at work but needs some assistance with her bills because of the missed income. We can provide assistance with financial obligations for this caring mother whose children are brave enough to protect America.
The second need is a lady in her fifties who is recovering from a stroke and has just found out she has cancer. She is taking chemotherapy twice a week and is struggling to make ends meet. She feels alone as she battles her health issues and falls further behind on her bills. She is trying to keep a positive outlook. We can help provide assistance with her medications and utilities while she continues her fight against cancer.
The third need is a lady in her nineties who has never asked for help. She has been forced to choose between paying for her medications or utilities. A neighbor noticed her need and took her to the Wesley House to apply for assistance. The lady did not want to ask for help, but thanks to the persistence of her kind neighbor she agreed to finally ask. We can help provide utilities and medications to this kind hearted lady.
The fourth need is a lady in her fifties trying to escape domestic violence. She has moved to a new home and is behind on her bills because of the upfront cost of moving. We can help her start a new life by providing assistance with her moving expenses.
With $3,250 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information- Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
