1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?”
Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns nine circumstances. The first need is a lady in her 50s who came to tears in the line to pay her power bill as a Wesley House staff member stood behind her. She was trying to pay just enough to keep her power on and still be able to pay for living necessities. God provided the right person as the staff member took her to the Wesley House to fill out an application. We can help with utilities to provide power to her home.
The second need is a man in his 40s laid off by his employer. He is starting a new job, but he is struggling to make ends meet because of his missed income. We can provide rent and utilities as he starts his new job.
The third need is a lady in her 50s who was just released from a six-week stay in the hospital. She has worked for the same employer for over 30 years but has no way to pay her mortgage and utilities with the missed income. We can provide assistance with her mortgage and utilities while she continues to heal and goes back to work.
The fourth need is a lady in her seventies who has fallen behind because of medical expenses. She felt she had no choice but to put her health before her utilities at the rate her health was declining. We can provide utilities as she continues to regain her health.
The fifth need is a mother with one child trying her best to stay ahead. Her hours were cut by her employer because of declining business. Making ends meet is difficult because of the decrease in her pay. We can provide rent and utilities as she looks for a second job.
The sixth need is a mother with one child working for two local fast food chains. She has always provided for herself and never asked for assistance. Her hours have been cut at work causing her to worry about utilities. We can provide utilities while she continues to work hard to give her child the best life possible.
The seventh need is a single mother with three children. One of the children became very sick forcing her to stay home to give medical care. The time home with her child caused her to lose much needed income. We can provide utilities while she goes back to work.
The eighth need is a lady in her thirties doing her best to afford the necessities of life. She regularly is forced to choose between food and utilities. We can provide utilities while she focuses on improving her finances.
The ninth need is a man in his forties who is trying is best to start over in life after facing hard times. He became homeless while unable to work because of health issues. He has regained his health and is doing his best to start over with nothing. We can provide living necessities as he starts a new job.
With $3,330.82 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information: Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
