Today's need — $2,210

MERIDIAN —     “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?”  1 John 3:17

Praise belongs to God as every need since 2009 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change and enhance lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.

Today’s need concerns six circumstances. These circumstances are a compilation of people who shared with us their stories. These stories protect the confidentiality of the individuals. The first need is a lady in her 70s whose employer went out of business.  She is doing all she can to find a new job. She has been walking to job interviews because she has no transportation. We can assist with her rent as she continues to search for new employment.

The second need is a lady in her 70s whose husband died a few months ago. She is doing all she can after the loss of her husband not to lose her home. She has been without electricity for several months in order to pay her mortgage. We can provide utilities so this lady can continue getting her life back together after her loss.

The third need is a couple with two children. The husband was injured in an accident and unable to work for a few weeks. Without the husbands income they are afraid of losing everything. We can assist with their mortgage as the husband returns to work.

The fourth need is a grandmother who just took in three of her grandchildren.  She was not financially prepared to take care of three small children by herself.  However, her life changed overnight when her grandchildren needed a safe place to live. Assisting with utilities, diapers, and clothing will give this grandmother the means to begin providing a home for her grandchildren.

The fifth need is an elderly man just released from the hospital. He is usually able to do odd jobs for extra money, but he has not been able to because of his sickness and hospital stay. We can provide his medications and utilities while he continues to heal.

The sixth need is a single mother with two children. She is currently looking for a second job to make up for the lost income as a result of her employer cutting her hours. Assisting with her rent and utilities will allow this mother to make ends meet while starting a second job.

With $2,210 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.

For your information, any story will be shared after all needs and individuals have been processed through the Wesley Clearing House. Proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household must be provided. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. This extensive application process ensures the people and the situations they face are real.  God is so good! Thank you for being somebody He can use. Please pray for each need and see if God gives you the means to help. If He puts it on your heart, please act on it.
