1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns six circumstances. The first need is a man in his 60s who became very sick during the last month. He had to choose between paying for his medications or utilities. We can provide utilities so this man can afford his medications.
The second need is a lady in her 60s escaping an abusive relationship. She has done the brave part of leaving the abuse but finds herself in a hard financial situation. We can provide assistance with her mortgage to help her continue a life free from abuse.
The third need is a lady in her 70s needing assistance physically and financially. Her daughter recently moved back to Meridian to help take care of her physical needs. We can provide utilities while this lady gets all areas of her life back together.
The fourth need is a single mother laid off from her job two weeks ago. She starts a new job next week. The missed income has her struggling to afford the necessities of life. We can provide rent and utilities as this hard working mother starts her new job.
The fifth need is a couple in their 50s taking time off from work to treat the wife’s cancer. Since her diagnosis the wife has been unable to return to work and the husband is doing his best to work and be by her side. We can provide assistance with their mortgage and utilities as the wife continues to heal.
The sixth need is a couple in their 50s struggling to make ends meet. This is the first time they have asked for help in their life. The husband has been sick and unable to work full time for several weeks. The missed income and medical expenses have them worried about affording the basics in life. We can provide utilities and food as the husband goes back to work.
With $2,467.98 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information- Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
