1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns four circumstances. The first need is a mother in her thirties with three children. She works very hard to make sure her children are always provided for. She often does not eat in order for her children to have enough food. Her employer cut her hours this month, and she is struggling to make ends meet. We can provide utilities so this hard working mother can continue providing for her three children.
The second need is a couple in their thirties with two children. They were paying their bills month to month until the wife was hospitalized. The husband just wants to take care of his children and sick wife to the best of his ability, but his wife’s missed income is causing him to fall further behind. He has never asked for help before in his life and found it very hard to ask. At this point he sees no way to survive financially. We can provide help with the mortgage and utilities as the wife is released from the hospital and returns to work soon.
The third need is a couple with two children. The husband was laid off by his employer because business was slow. He has already found a part time job and is looking for a full time position. The wife is already working full time and is looking for another part time job. This young couple has no family in the area and just needs a little help to make ends meet. We can provide utilities until they get their finances back on track with new jobs.
The fourth need is a lady in her seventies living on a fixed income. She has no family to help her out and has never had any financial problem before. She was very humble while asking for help and is thankful for anything we can do to help her keep her utilities on. We can provide utilities so this nice lady can continue to have utilities.
With $2,850 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information- Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
