1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns five circumstances. The first need is a couple in their seventies struggling with several health issues. The husband has cancer and severe lung problems requiring oxygen. They lost their home in foreclosure and have no transportation because of a recent car wreck. All this combined has this couple in need for the first time in their lives. We can help with rent, utilities, and medical expenses to help this couple get back their financial stability.
The second need is a man in his late sixties just released from the hospital. He is very frail from a heart attack and recent problems because of diabetes. The list of medications required to maintain his health is very extensive. He found it hard to ask for help because he had usually been the one giving. We can provide utilities for this man who has given to so many others during his life.
The third need is a mother in her forties working two jobs to support her two children. Police verified that her purse containing her cashed income check was stolen. We can provide utilities for this hard working mother to continue providing for her two children.
The fourth need is a couple in their fifties with unexpected car repairs. This vehicle is the only source of transportation for them both to go to work. They were very humbled asking for assistance but could not figure out another way to afford their utilities. We can provide utilities as their car is repaired and they continue working.
The fifth need is a couple in their late thirties with three young children. The husband was laid of last month and was unemployed for several weeks. He has already started a new job but has fallen behind because of missed income. We can provide assistance with their mortgage and utilities as they return to their normal income.
With $3,250 we can meet all these needs. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information- Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
