First State Bank announces Thomas promotion

MERIDIAN —     Joel C. Clements, Chairman, CEO and President of First State Bank in Waynesboro announced that Buster Thomas has been promoted to president of First State Bank in Meridian.

    Thomas is a graduate of Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla., and the University of Oklahoma School of Consumer and Commercial Lending.

    Buster is a native of Meridian. He previously served as the Budget/Allocation Committee Chairman for the United Way of Meridian and is a past president of the Clarke County Chamber of Commerce.  

    Thomas is also active in numerous other organizations, including the Meridian Downtown Association, the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation, Rotary, the Navy League and the Air Force Association.

    Buster is married to Cheryl (Jordan) Thomas. They have one son, Andy.  Buster and Cheryl attend Cathedral Assembly of God where he serves as a Deacon.

    Founded in 1934, First State Bank is headquartered in Waynesboro, with additional offices in Buckatunna, Clara, Leakesville, Lucedale, Meridian, Quitman, and State Line and has total assets of $527,000,000.
