MERIDIAN — Special to The Star

Congratulations to Brookley Glover, RN, Nursery, for being selected the DAISY Award winner for the first quarter at MS Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Miss. She was honored at a celebration on Oct. 15. The nursing award was created in 2000 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). The award recognizes the work nurses do every day to care for their patients and to keep Barnes' positive spirit alive. It also recognizes nurses who are caring, professional, compassionate, friendly and responsive and act as a role model. Glover was selected from among 18 Baptist Golden Triangle nurses nominated for the first quarter. She was nominated by BMH-GT nurse colleague Marlee DeMoville for the exceptional care she gave DeMoville's newborn daughter.
