New Sports Addition store to open in Meridian

MERIDIAN —     BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Hibbett Sporting Goods, Inc., a national sporting goods retailer based in Birmingham, is pleased to announce the execution of a lease for a Sports Addition store in Meridian.

The company plans to open the Sports Addition location this fall in the Bonita Lakes Mall. The store anticipates employing eight full and part-time team members.

Currently Hibbett has 62 other locations in the state of Mississippi alone. This will be the fourth Sports Addition in Mississippi and the nineteenth Sports Addition store in the chain. This will be the second store in the market for the company. The current Hibbett store, which has been open since 1998, is also located in Bonita Lakes Mall.

Hibbett is a fast-growing operator of over 940 full-line sporting goods stores in small to mid-sized markets, predominantly in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest.

Sports Additions stores offer a large selection of quality branded athletic footwear and apparel, with a focus on knowledgeable, friendly customer service and providing customers with information they can't always get at other stores, a company press release states.

"Hibbett Sports has a long history of focusing on the needs of local teams and leagues, with a variety of services to meet the needs of coaches and players alike," according to the press release.
