Thornhill Joins CNB’s Wealth Management Division

MERIDIAN —     Archie McDonnell Jr., Citizens National Bank President & CEO, is pleased to announce that Teresa Thornhill has joined the bank’s Wealth Management Division as a Senior Vice President. Originally from Meridian, Teresa has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.

    According to McDonnell, Teresa will be working closely with Lee Meyer, the bank’s Chief Trust and Investment Officer, over the next few years to inherit responsibility for supporting the Trust and Brokerage operations and to improve the Bank’s marketing of its Wealth Management products and services.

    “Teresa is an important part of our management succession plan for Wealth Management as the bank moves forward with its plan to be a major Wealth Management player in the markets we serve in Mississippi,” McDonnell said.

    Most recently, Teresa served as a First Vice President and Corporate Banking Sales and Administration Manager for Trustmark Bank in Jackson. Prior to her role in Corporate Banking, she spent 13 years in the Wealth Management Division as Marketing and Administration Manager.

    In addition to her duties in the Wealth Management Division of Trustmark, Teresa served as President and Product Manager of The Performance Funds, Trustmark's Proprietary Mutual Fund Family, which included approximately $1 billion in assets.  She also served as a Director of Trustmark Investment Advisors, Inc.

    From 1992 to 1999, Teresa was employed with Deposit Guaranty National Bank, which was later acquired by First American National Bank. She served as Product Manager of DG Investor Series Mutual Funds, which totaled $2.5 billion in assets, and also served as the Asset Management Compliance Officer during her employment with the Bank.

    Teresa is a graduate of Mississippi State University, with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration, a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership's Leadership Development Program, and the National Regulatory Services, Inc.'s Investment Advisor Program.

    Throughout her career, she has held the following FINRA licenses:  the Series 7 (General Securities Representative), the Series 24 (General Securities Principal), the Series 27 (Financial and Operations Principal), the Series 53 (Municipal Securities Principal), and the Series 63 (Uniform Securities Representative).

    She is married to Tom Williams, President and CEO of the Meridian Airport Authority, and they have four children.

    Citizens National Bank is an independent, Mississippi-owned bank which has 27 bank locations throughout the state of Mississippi in cities such as Meridian, Ridgeland, Madison, Flowood, Hattiesburg, Laurel, Waynesboro, Columbus, Macon, Kosciusko, Carthage, Philadelphia, Southaven and Olive Branch.

    The bank currently has assets in excess of $1 billion and is celebrating its 125th year of operation in 2013.
