Local Realtor

and affiliate

honored by MBR

Cassie Kauerz, real estate broker/owner of Wilson Realty in Meridian, and Lisa Goodman, Vice President of Citizens National Bank, were chosen as the 2009 REALTOR® of the Year and 2009 Affiliate of the Year, respectively. They were the individuals selected by the membership of the Meridian Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (MBR).

“Cassie and Lisa are highly respected for their work in the real estate and mortgage fields, and we are pleased to honor them in such a manner,” says Sonny Toms, president of the Meridian Board of REALTORS®. “Both have been very involved in not only MBR matters, but have been active participants in activities benefiting our community.”

President Toms noted “Criteria considered by the selection committee included above and beyond service to the MBR organization, service to the community, and exceptional service to their clients.” Cassie Kauerz has served on the MBR Bylaws Committee, Education Committee, MLS Committee, Finance Committee, chaired several of these committees, and currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the organization. In addition to her REALTOR® activities, she has been active in the Junior Auxiliary, Lamar School Foundation, Meridian Airport Authority, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Race, Habitat for Humanity, American Red cross, and the United Way.

Lisa Goodman is an active participant in MBR matters, including serving on a panel of mortgage lenders discussing changes in that industry. She has been in mortgage lending for many years, and currently serves as Vice President-Mortgage Lending for Citizens National Bank. She has received Citizen’s Mortgage Originator Award for the past five years. Lisa serves as a member and past President of Career Women of Meridian.

The purpose of the Meridian Board of REALTORS® is to provide and promote services which enhance members’ ability to conduct their business with competency, integrity and by the Code of Ethics; to be recognized as involved citizens of the community; and to inform the public of the unique and valuable services REALTORS® provide.
