At the ripe old age of 13, Eric Miller mastered the barbeque grill. Today, he sits behind the desk at Trustmark Bank as the Vice President of Corporate Accounts. But Miller has never given up his grilling talents or his secret sauce, Fit to Eat!

Growing up in Anguilla, Miss., Miller began helping a local group of guys who cooked for golf tournaments, town picnics and fundraisers.

Sometimes, however, the barbequing went late into the night. And after consuming a few too many cocktails, the men went to bed and left young 13 year old Miller at the controls! Early on it was baptism by fire, literally. But after only a few burned tenderloins, the guys, Jerry, Bill and Charlie, taught Eric everything he needed to know about grilling and barbeque. Just a few short years later at the tender age of 15, Miller ventured out on his own by cooking and selling pork loins around the holidays. In the first year, he sold roughly 40 whole pork loins. Word got out. He began catering parties, golf tournaments, banquets, class reunions and even a wedding rehearsal dinner. He was a big hit!

But there was just one problem. Eric was unable to find the perfect sauce for his famous barbeque. So, he and his Dad went to work. They tested and tasted, talked and tweaked, and then tasted some more and came up with their own sauce simply named “Fit to Eat.”

Originally marketed in mason jars, Eric sold them at the events he catered. But with such a big demand, he saw the need to expand the product and recently began bottling the famous sauce professionally.

Currently it’s sold locally at Reflections in Meridian, The Potting Shed in Philadelphia, and Jerry’s Flowers & Gifts in Louisville with many more to come.
