Mississippi Choctaw Indian Fair set July 9-12

CHOCTAW, Miss. – Top country, gospel and rock entertainment takes the stage this year at the 59th Annual Mississippi Choctaw Indian Fair July 9-12.

A new twist on entertainment will be featured this year as three different genres of music, Country, Gospel and Alternative Rock, will be highlighted each night.

Beginning Wednesday, July 9, at 7 p.m., don’t miss your chance to see Choctaw traditions and culture at its finest at the annual Choctaw Indian Princess Pageant as contestants vie for the highly-coveted title of Choctaw Indian Princess.

Country music artists Jason Michael Carroll and Emerson Drive hit the amphitheater stage Thursday, July 10. At 7 p.m., country music newcomer Jason Michael Carroll performs chart-topping singles like “Alyssa Lies,” and “Livin’ Our Love Song.” Headlining the night will be Emerson Drive at 8:30 p.m. with hits like “You Still Own Me” and “Moments.”

Top gospel acts take center stage July 11 with local favorite, Psalms Trio and the Contemporary Christian band, MercyMe. Psalms Trio is set to take the stage at 7 p.m. featuring many old time gospel favorites. Topping the night, MercyMe takes the stage at 8:30 p.m. performing their crossover hit “I Can Only Imagine,” and current hits like “So Long Self.”

Closing out festivities on July 12, the fair brings to the stage alternative and blues superstars, Indigenous and Los Lonely Boys. At 7 p.m., guitar maestro Indigenous takes the stage. This stellar guitarist, singer and songwriter performs an eclectic blues-rock set. His hits include “Runaway” and “The Way You Shake.”

Los Lonely Boys take the stage at 8:30 p.m. Best known for their Grammy-award winning hit “Heaven,” Los Lonely Boys are set to follow up their successful self-titled album with this summer’s album, Sacred.

In addition to the entertainment, fairgoers can enjoy four fun-filled days of Choctaw culture and spirit including Tribal arts, crafts, dances, foods, and the thrilling action of World Championship Stickball.

Tickets for all acts and other fair activities are: $15 for adult season passes, $10 for adult day passes, $10 for student season passes and $5 for student day passes. Children 5 and younger get in free. To learn more about all the fair has to offer, visit www.choctawindianfair.com.
