Weather to delay opening of Lauderdale County schools

MERIDIAN — The Lauderdale County School District announced that school openings will be delayed Thursday because of the potential for severe weather.

Schools will begin at 10 a.m., according to a school district press release.

If conditions worsen overnight, schools could be closed Thursday. According to the press release, an announcement will be made at 5:30 a.m. Thursday if the decision is made to close the schools.
