Be friendly to all because people can be extremely helpful to you in the year ahead, both career-wise and socially. Your new friends will introduce you to groups that can open up new avenues of opportunity.



VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) -- Unless you are careful not to get involved, you could get caught up in a situation with two friends where you will feel compelled to side with one against the other. You'll be the one called disloyal.



LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23) -- Unless you are prepared to rely more upon yourself than on Lady Luck, you won't be successful. Unfortunately, when you most need her, she will be nowhere to be found.



SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 22) -- Even if it puts you in an embarrassing position, tell it like it is. If you embellish the truth or exaggerate the facts, it will put you in a bad light.



SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23-Dec. 21) -- Be careful about trying to be a horse trader, because if you go up against someone who has had bartering experience, you could be the one losing the farm, not the other guy.



CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) -- Having the ability to see both sides of an issue is an enormous asset. Unless you tediously weigh and balance everything, your conclusions will turn out to be ineffective and wasteful.



AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 19) -- The only thing that will hurt your image at this time is if you refuse to fess up to situations you are unable to handle. It will turn out to be an embarrassment if you can't do what you say.



PISCES (Feb. 20-March 20) -- It's good to take serious issues seriously, but when it comes to competitive fun and games, treat them for what they are -- diversions. If you don't, you'll end up as your own worst enemy.



ARIES (March 21-April 19) -- You have more abilities and talents than you give yourself credit for, so don't look at others with envy, because that could cause you to feel unnecessarily inadequate or undeserving.



TAURUS (April 20-May 20) -- Persons you usually trust might not be there when you need them, so make sure that you have the facts on your side because you're likely to be challenged.



GEMINI (May 21-June 20) -- If you have a choice between paying off an old obligation and buying something new, get rid of the debt. Adding to it will only put you in deeper hole and prolong the agony.



CANCER (June 21-July 22) -- Those who tend to go up against you are apt to be more vehement than usual. Stand on your own, because sadly, those who often support you won't be around.



LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) -- Try to eliminate your duties in an orderly fashion as soon as possible, because if you don't, more things will begin to pile up and they collectively could exceed your ability to take care of them.
